Job Description Purpose:
The ideal candidate will direct and manage all aspects of commercial product development initiatives for the program portfolio with the technical expertise and strategic mindset to ensure the company is properly positioned in the marketplace. Roles &
Responsibilities:
Direct and manage Product Development team in determining overall program product strategy. Monitors program results and manages profit and loss for assigned programs. Drive key pricing and coverage changes and/or enhancement of product offering. Develop budget, product forecast, and annual product plans. Understand, oversee and monitor compliance and controls (AMIG, Munich Re, State, Federal) impactful to product development and management. Collaboratively work with Operational Risk and Compliance to validate controls internally and with Account through monitoring, audits, and reporting. Effectively communicate and present product recommendations to senior management, internal stakeholders, and program accounts. Establish and maintain agency, industry, and internal/external account relationships. Travel for account product development estimated 10-25%. Oversee and approve development of product manuals, guidelines, bulletins/directives, etc. Collaborate with program team and Account for implementation of product changes. Collaborate within department, other business units and Account to create or modify form language to improve product position or reduce losses. Development of staff on pricing methodologies and philosophies (segmentation, multivariate analysis, credibility weighting, loss trending, premium trending, EP at current rate level). Leads, manages and develops Product Development team for professional growth and achievement. Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree and/or insurance coursework leading to an industry designation (CPCU, FCAS); Knowledge of Actuarial Principles & Functions, AAP/STAT Accounting, State Regulatory Framework, Reinsurance is preferred Minimum of 5 years commercial lines experience as a Product Analyst or Product Manager is required Strong analytical skills to understand data manipulation, analysis and problem solving. Advanced technical systems experience. Strong command of Excel and Access, along with other applications including Cognos, Radar, SQL and mapping software. Understanding of actuarial principals and proven pricing acumen. Strong presentation skills with ability to interact & build relationships with diverse external accounts and internal business units Ability to align & guide direct reports through shifting demands while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Technical Product ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
