Receptionist / Service Coordinator, Thomaston Meadows

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, welcome and positive emphasis. Ensures guests/visitors abide by existing rules and reports suspicious persons/information to the Community Manager.
  • Answers telephone; determines nature of call and directs caller to appropriate individual or department. Receives inquiries from staff, residents and guests and releases information in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Takes an active role as part of the Community team, helping with all administrative tasks when necessary. These may include, but are not limited to, filing, copying, mailings, composing and typing confidential/medical material, formatting/ revising existing documents using the computer, compiling and maintaining the monthly calendar and physician/activity sign up sheets, and assisting in the development, administration and coordination of department policies and procedures.
  • Participates in resident/family council meetings as requested and provides support services to such councils.
  • Serves on various committees as directed.
  • Assists residents as requested/needed; provides door/mailbox keys, etc.
  • Provides general service management which includes intake, ongoing assessment, education (services available and application procedures) and referral to service providers in the general community. Ensures all residents requiring assistance are referred to the appropriate agencies which provide the needed services. These social services may include Meals on Wheels, Home Health Agencies, Counseling Services, Preventative Health Screenings, and other services.
  • Acts as a liaison with residents, family members, social agencies, and other ERS staff as appropriate, concerning resident needs and/or concerns.
  • Is responsible for maintaining adequate case files on all residents requiring social support services. Completes and submits reports or other supportive documentation.
  • Assist the residents in building informal support networks with other residents, family and friends.
  • Arranges and coordinates for various speakers and service providers to come to the community on a regular basis to promote health, wellness, and benefits as appropriate as well as other issues of interest and/or need to the residents. Assesses residents participation in, and satisfaction with programs, interest in new programs and barriers to greater participation.
  • Encourages residents to volunteer and participate in activities.
  • Completes and submits incident reports within the required timeframe.
  • Tracks and reports various metrics and information (e. g., hospitalizations, emergency response sheets, and others).

Qualifications

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Prior customer service or clerical experience preferred

  • Occupancy certification skills and experience preferred

  • Experience in or familiarity with social services preferred

  • Must possess excellent grammar and communication skills

  • Must have strong computer skills

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
